“As President of the BioResearch & Development Growth (BRDG) Park, I have engaged St. Louis Transplants to assist us with our efforts to recruit innovative companies from around the world to our research park at the Danforth Plant Science Center. Their services have maximized the recruitment process by helping to make a positive first impression, reduce negative perceptions and showcase our community in a meaningful way. Once they arrive, St. Louis Transplants has helped employees who relocate assimilate quickly and feel welcome and comfortable in their new home.”
“We recommend new international people and corporate spouses who relocate here from other countries join STL Transplants to meet local residents who will both welcome them; as well as quickly find new friends with whom to enjoy the region. We suggest that St. Louis Mosaic Project Ambassadors who want to welcome international newcomers join and be part of the STL Transplants network as well.”

“Transplant Forever: My name is Zamir Gotta, known to many as Anthony Bourdain's traveling companion on shows such as No Reservations and Parts Unknown. As a born fixer myself, I know how crucial a role it can be. It's no secret that Tony and I ended up on a blacklist in Romania after being handled by the wrong local fixer, and ever since, I have been very selective in who I choose to guide me in new markets. St. Louis Transplants was recommended by many sources for my first trip to St. Louis in November 2014, and I haven't regretted it since. The professional attitude from its staff was not limited to our formal city tours or recommendations on where to eat and explore. They had a unique personal touch that helped me fall in love and understand St. Louis not only for what it was in all its history, but what it is today. I never thought I would say this, but one week was not enough and I will be officially returning to continue my exploration! As a world traveler, I wish there was a Transplants in every city to feel at home. Thank you.”

“I moved to St. Louis shortly after graduating Harvard law school in the summer of 2011 for a year, just a year, to clerk for a federal judge. I had no intention of staying, and in fact very good professional reasons not to stay. It's now the spring of 2015, and largely thanks to St. Louis Transplants, I can no longer really see myself living anywhere other than St. Louis. From shortly after the time I first arrived, Transplants was one of my first and most valuable resources as I began to navigate the city, getting me involved with many of the activities and organizations that now form a big part of my life. I made great friends and important connections through Transplants events, and from being a completely foreign city to me, St. Louis has truly become my home. ”

“I came as a spouse of someone recruited to St. Louis for a career. Having lived in 7 different states and another country for 6 years, I found St. Louis very charming, yet unique in its difficulty to navigate. I may have given up if we hadn’t discovered STL Transplants, with their profound understanding of St. Louis and its specific challenges. First, things rapidly began to improve as they led me to community resources and businesses that, unlike before, made a point to assist and call me back quickly. Then they helped us integrate into an active St. Louis social scene from their strong base of hosts. I attended dinner parties with wonderful people, became linked to vibrant groups, and was even given the opportunity to interview for a dream job because of my new network. I strongly recommend that any employer who has recruits from other cities get a Transplants membership for their families. Simply put, if one spouse is not urging the other spouse to move, the employer has an improved chance of retaining new hires. I cannot write enough good things about this group. It is an absolute game changer. ”

"Anthony and the team from St. Louis Transplants were very helpful to me before even moving to St. Louis by discussing my concerns and ultimately making the transition smoother. They are organized, efficient and extremely confident; always listening to the needs of their clients. I strongly recommend using St. Louis Transplants as a resource to anyone moving to St. Louis for the first time (like myself) or 'back' again after time away."

“Meeting a diverse group of professionals both new and old to St. Louis is always bonus, and anyone new to the area would benefit from the welcoming group of people this organization provides. I always feel like there are events lined up that will meet the tastes of my wife and me, so it's something we can enjoy together. But STLT has meant a lot to me personally as well. They took the time to get to know me at the core, and I met the group of people in St. Louis whom I can call my best friends."

"I had been living in Boston for 7 years after moving to the US from London. Outside of large metropolitan markets like New York or San Francisco, I was nervous about the idea of moving towards the middle of the country. But a great career opportunity became available, with the most interesting position in St. Louis, so i decided to give the Midwest a chance. After exploring the city on my own during the interview process, l returned to Boston very unsure: Was there anything to do except watch sports? Did it ever get really busy, like Boston and London do? Is there any artistic and political excitement in St. Louis?
But the job was too good to pass up, so I would return to give St. Louis one last try—only this time, I had discovered St. Louis Transplants. Knowing someone outside of my employer made a difference that was startling. First, I was quickly connected to London natives living in St. Louis who began emailing their thoughts, experience and perspective, increasing my comfort level significantly. Additional Transplant hosts were also assigned to me from the arts and LGBT community, who reached out to assure me that they too would be here should I choose the St. Louis position. Alongside this network, I went back to many of the neighborhoods and places I had previously seen on my own, only this time experiencing them in a whole new light. I went home feeling confident my move would be successful—and it was! I found an apartment in an area I love, made so many new friends, and learned all about my new city in a far more personal way. I love my new life in St. Louis..."
